Oxford and UCL also had five-star research grades, although Oxford entered fewer staff for assessment than the other two. Nottingham was the only other university to receive a five-star research assessment but missed the top 20 because of a low score of 16 out of 24 for teaching in the 1995 assessment. Teaching was rated better than Cambridge at Queen Mary and Westfield College, just outside the top ten, and at the unplaced Westminster and Portsmouth. |
