Both Warwick and York also record top marks for both teaching and research, while Oxford, Glasgow and Imperial College, London, lag only because they entered fewer staff for assessment in research. The assessors of teaching in England were concerned about the variations they found both in standards and approach. But both the teaching and research assessments are dated, in a subject which inevitably moves quickly. Computing has seen the biggest increases in enrolment of any subject in recent years and is now second only to business studies in terms of size. |
