They have no separately listed A-level grades, so the scoring system gives them a better total than Lancaster, which has an identical record for teaching and research but average entry grades of less than a B and two Cs. The only university considered internationally outstanding for research was Stirling, which entered a relatively low proportion of its academics for assessment, and was not among the 13 universities rated excellent at teaching. Almost half of the 47 universities offering social work are former polytechnics, but only Anglia makes it to the top 20 with an excellent teaching grade. |
